COMPANY SUMMARY:
Robowind is developing proprietary drones, rovers, and robots for Wind Turbine repair and maintenance. Our goal is to place our turbine blade inspection, repair, and protection robots worldwide; especially at offshore wind turbine farms where blade maintenance is a difficult and dangerous job. To accomplish this goal, we will need to procure various parts and end-units from China.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under general direction of COO or CEO the Purchasing Executive is responsible for meeting procurement goals in their area of responsibility by analyzing developing or activating vendor/supplier contacts and negotiating least cost, highest quality goods and services from China and other areas as defined.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Develop or access a procurement system that defines product and order levels by time-period
- Plan and execute export/import strategy complying with organizational aims and needs
- Manage financial and currency processes as per policy and law and optimize cost effectiveness
- Recruit, train, evaluate, motivate, and delegate staff activities
- Develop effective and constructive solutions to export/import challenges by using personal judgment and initiative
- Review, record and analyze on trends and results and suggest for export/import
- Negotiate purchase/sales contracts and renew and review contracts for trading, operations, and customer relations
- Enhance operational plant purchasing processes
- Optimize budget process and oversee indirectly materials inventory.
- Oversee supplier performance and develop plant buyer team’s competence and qualification.
- Interface with Production to determine raw material procurement and pack material through trustable vendor base
- Forward and follow-up on vendor enquiries for production and pricing needs
- Implement and track purchase orders to ensure production schedule are on time
- Develop and execute contract management and purchase instruction
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Attends and presents at trade shows.
- Participates in professional organizations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering or Business
- Five to ten years of proven China logistics or purchasing or importing experience
- Expert in regards to import/export documents and custom’s clearance
- Able to manage multiple activities
- Strong project management skills
- Strong Sales Engineering skills
- Ability to work independently, yet work effectively with cross-functional resources in remote locations
- Proficiency in English required, and also: Mandarin or Cantonese preferred
COMPENSATION:
- Market Rate based on DOE
- Bonus
